(Oklahoma City, OK) – After 37 years at American Fidelity Assurance Company, John Schille will retire as Chief Information Officer, effective April 1. Kim Fisher will take over the role at that time. Schille began his career at the company in 1968 as a computer programmer. He moved up the ranks to systems analyst, applications manager and data processing director before being named the chief information officer in the mid 1990s. Under his leadership, the Information Services Division has grown to become nationally recognized each year as a one of the best places to work in IT, as ranked by Computerworld magazine. In 2004, the division topped the magazine's list. The following year, Schille was featured on the magazine's Premier 100 IT Leaders list. "I am thankful to John for his many years of dedicated service to the company," said Chief Executive Officer Bill Cameron. "He is a respected leader in our organization and has seen us through vast changes in the world of technology." American Fidelity Assurance Company has nearly 200 Colleagues in the Information Services Division. Fisher has been with American Fidelity Assurance Company since 1987 and has worked in a variety of capacities within the company, including systems analyst, applications manager and project development office director. The two have been working closely during the last several weeks to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.
