Being in the world of insurance and financial security, we naturally yearn to provide secure environments for those in need. This drives our commitment to being a productive corporate citizen.

AFA regularly contributes to many philanthropic activities through monetary contributions or donations of time and talents. Organizations from the United Way to the Juvenile Diabetes Association benefit from our community outreach. AFA also partners with Buchanan Elementary School, bringing Colleagues and students together for weekly tutoring sessions.

Our Colleagues take part in fundraising events for different non-profit organizations ranging from the Free to Live Animal Sanctuary to the March of Dimes. Colleagues raised more than $20,000 for the American Heart Association through pledges and T-shirt sales in support of the 2007 OKC Heart Walk. AFA CEO Bill Cameron took on the role of chairman for the event to help back such Colleague effort and such a worthy cause.

AFA is also proud of its association with the American Fidelity Foundation. Established in 1982 as the American Fidelity Founders Fund, the AF Foundation was renamed and refocused in early 2007 to better match community needs, to provide increased financial resources and to complement other civic involvement by American Fidelity companies and Colleagues. The Foundation's giving through grants and matching of Colleague donations exceeded $600,000 in 2007.
