It has recently come to our attention that numerous individuals have received a letter that informs them that they have been "declared winners of the NATIONAL LOTTO CO-OPERATION SWEEPSTAKES LOTTERY held on October 14, 2006 in the 2nd Category."

American Fidelity Assurance Company is not associated with AMERICAN ASSURANCE FINANCIAL COMPANY and we are not involved in issuing Lotto Checks. The individuals involved are apparently creating fraudulent and bogus checks with American Fidelity Assurance Company as the Payor.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CASH THIS CHECK AS IT IS COUNTERFEIT.

We are reporting this matter to the appropriate authorities. If you have received one of these, or a similar letter or check, please contact The Special Investigation Unit at 1-800-654-8489, extension 5211. As an alternative you may directly fax a copy of these documents to 405-416-7973, as we would like to obtain as many copies of these Scam letters to provide them to law enforcement.
