Patient Protection Notices
For plan years beginning on or after Sept. 23rd 2010, summaries of plan benefits for non grandfathered plans must include notice of the ability of participants to designate any primary care physician or pediatrician as their primary care physician, and the ability for females to have access to OB/GYN services without preauthorization.

- Will my insurance company send this notice for me?
Answer: You need to check to see whether your insurance company (or third party administrator) is sending the required notices and or including the required language in plan summaries. If not, it is your responsibility to do so. Model notices are available here.
